Why is 192.168.1.1 not opening?

There could be a few reasons why your IP address is not responsive, including:

  1. this is not the default gateway address of your router
  2. your router is turned off
  3. your LAN or Wi-Fi network card is disabled
  4. your firewall is blocking your network connection
  5. your network driver’s problem

If you are struggling follow these steps:

  1. Check your default IP address
  2. Open up a web browser and type the default IP address of the router, according to the router brand you are using, into the URL bar or search engine. Most common is http://192.168.1.1
  3. If your router’s IP address is not 192.168.1.1, use Google to search for your router brand and model number to identify your router’s IP address.
  4. Put the password in
  5. If this doesn’t work, you’ll need to reset your router. Use a pen to press the small reset button at the back of your router for 7 seconds.
  6. Unplug everything from the router, plug everything back in wait for it to come up again
